Welcome to the proposed I-59 East Frontage Road Project website.
This website will serve as the primary source of information for the proposed project, providing the public with access to maps, project details, and public involvement opportunities throughout the planning and development process.
Project Overview:
The City of Picayune has proposed the construction of a frontage road located along the east side of Interstate 59.
The proposed project includes the construction of an approximately 2.0-mile frontage road connecting Highway 43 and Sycamore Road running parallel to the east side of Interstate 59. In addition, the project would construct a bridge to traverse East Hobolochitto Creek, and a modernized intersection at the intersection with East Canal Street.
The purpose of the proposed project is to improve transportation efficiency and connectivity within the City of Picayune and surrounding areas by separating local traffic from through-traffic on the mainline facility, Interstate 59, and improving mobility for residents, businesses, and emergency services on the east side of Interstate 59.
